Oil painting to be cleaned and reframed

Good artists might have the pleasure of seeing people’s face light up when they see their paintings for the first time.

The team at Gadsby’s also get to tap into a similar pleasure when someone comes to collect a family favourite after it has been cleaned and/or restored.

The contrast between the painting when it arrives at Gadsby’s for cleaning and after the work has been completed can be subtle or profound depending on the state it had deteriorated to. It doesn’t really matter how deep the contrast. When people collect their newly refurbished painting the memory of what it was like when they first saw it, sometimes many decades ago, returns. Everyone smiles – it is a great pleasure to watch.

Dirty “before”

Cleaned “after”

The picture below shows the painting after it had been cleaned and reframed by the team at Gadsby’s.

Also, shown is the painting part way through the cleaning process.

If you have items of value to you which would benefit from some tender loving care  (restoration / repair / cleaning) then call Gadsby’s to discuss whether we can help.
