Restored ceramic touched up with enamel paint

by Mar 29, 2024Restoration

When a ceramic item breaks there are often small shards not collected up and brought in with the larger prices when getting the item restored. Sometimes even when the shards are brought in the fit isn’t perfect.

Humbrol Enamel paint for touching Up

Depending on the clients requirements, we will generally use one or more of the Humbrol Tinlet range of enamel paints when touching up the filler used to cover any gaps because of the missing shards.

The 14ml tinlets are available in 80 colours and cost (at the time of writing) £2.60 each. The range of Humbrol Tinlets are available for purchase in our Market Place, Leicester shop.

Broken bowl restoration

This bowl was dropped and broken into 20+ pieces varying greatly in size. We solved the jigsaw puzzle (a fairly easy one this time) and assembled the pieces back into a single bowl. Filled the cracks and then we used 4 of the Humbol Tinlets of enamel to hide the filler and match in with the original decoration.
