What can we Frame?

Pretty much anything – some of the largest things we have framed have needed special fixings to hang!

Framing – we will find a way!

Gadsby’s (Leicester) have framed thousands of things in the last 100+ years.

  • Prior to the 1950’s we mainly framed oils, watercolours, charcoal and pencil sketches with a very few photographs
  • In the 50’s and 60’s the focus continued on oils, watercolours and pencil sketches
  • The 70’s and 80’s saw acrylics and photographs as the biggest growth areas
  • The 90’s was the boom time for memorabelia
  • For the last 20+ years we have seen a much wider variety of things being framed

Framing today includes:

  • Paintings – of all sorts
  • Photographs (singles and multiples)
  • Tapestries
  • Needlepoint
  • Pencraft
  • Calligraphy
  • Posters
  • Medals
  • Pennants
  • Screws / bolts / nuts
  • Wedding bouquets
  • Wedding cake decorations
  • Children’s shoes
  • Coins
  • Certificates
  • Shirts / Shorts
  • Gloves
  • Boots
  • Pipes (smokers)
  • Bats / rackets
  • Balls
